Trion Worlds, the makers of Rift announced yesterday that their servers were attacked and that a serious breach was incurred. Users information was stolen which included account names and passwords, as well as emails, addresses, credit card informations, and dates of birth.

Our first suggestion to you, is change your email password. It might not be the same as your account password, but using the information gained, could gain access to it. Then change your secret answer to your email password. Again, this information coul dbe used to gain access to your email account. Since most people use the same email address for everything, including banking informations, this can be a serious breach if not handled correctly. Last, let your credit reporting agency know that there was a breach at Trion Worlds, and that they should take extra precautions with your accounts. While they should be aware of this, its better to be safe.
